Readygg has partnered with the physical-digital “phygital” entertainment festival Open World Now (OWN) for Web3 gaming.

The strategic collaboration aims to enhance the experience for festival-goers by integrating Web3 games and innovative technology-driven activities.

Readygg has also hired John Nash, a season finance executive, as its COO. Christina Macedo has moved to CEO and cofounder David S. Bennahum is no longer CEO and remains as a cofounder of Readygg. The company portrayed the change as its transition from a startup to a product or platform company. Readygg said it has come to the point where the cofounders feel a need to bring in additional skillsets as their token — their finalized go-to-market strategy — goes on presale next month.

Development of exclusive tournaments and activities

Through this partnership, Valencia, Spain-based OWN will host a series of exclusive tournaments and activities featuring Readygg’s top Web3 games. Participants at the OWN festival will have the opportunity to engage with the latest Web3 games.

In a joint initiative, OWN and Readygg will introduce OWN Quest, a loyalty platform powered by Readygg. This platform is designed to offer unique rewards and enhance participant engagement by OWN attendees.

“Partnering with Readygg allows us to bring the future of gaming to our festival-goers,” said Javier Carrión at OWN, in a statement. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering innovative and immersive experiences that bridge the digital and physical worlds.”

Readygg will play a role in OWN Connect, the festival’s dedicated space for panels and talks. As a key partner, Readygg will lead a series of discussions focused on promoting Web3 technology and its applications. These sessions are designed to educate, inspire, and foster dialogue among attendees. Readygg will also have a booth at OWN.

“We are excited to join forces with OWN to showcase the potential of Web3 gaming and enabling on-chain digital identities,” said Christina Macedo, CEO at READYgg, in a statement. “Together, we are creating a festival experience that not only entertains but also educates and engages participants in new and meaningful ways by connecting physical and digital experiences powered by the blockchain.”

New COO

Meanwhile Nash was recently appointed COO and Macedo, who was previously COO and chief product officer, was appointed to the role of CEO, replacing Bennahum. The aim is to tap Nash’s expertise across traditional finance, gaming, and crypto sectors.

A seasoned gamer, entrepreneur and CFA Charterholder based in New York City, is renowned for his strategic investments at Snackclub, where he championed the early funding of over 50 Web3 gaming startups, including Big Time, Shrapnel, and Phantom Galaxies.

“After three cycles in crypto, talking to thousands of Web3 gaming companies, Readygg was the only gaming project I came across that had product-market-fit and was on a path to mass adoption. At Readygg, we have the unique opportunity to onboard billions of real gamers to the blockchain with a turnkey solution to convert any Web2 game to Web3,” Nash said in a statement. “I joined READYgg tohelp turn that vision into reality.”

As COO, Nash will oversee Readygg’s ongoing operations and procedures, aiming to maximize efficiency and drive growth as the company prepares to launch its public token in July and continues to innovate in the gaming industry. The company has about 21 employees and more contractors.
